Year 3 Deepavali Assembly

The Key Stage 2 assembly on 30th of October was a stunning affair. With the auditorium and performers decked out in a riot of colours, it set the ambience for what was to be a memorable performance by students of Year 3 in celebration of the upcoming Deepavali festival.

The children performed confidently, entertaining the audience of Key Stage 2 students in the morning and the audience of Year 3 parents in the afternoon. We were treated to a Ramayana play by 3E, explaining the meaning of Deepavali. This was followed by a delectable fashion show by 3N showcasing not only the variety of styles from the different regions in India, but also budding catwalk models! The children of 3B enchanted us next, by depicting in song, the traditional activities that occur during the 5 days of Deepavali celebration. As the final act, 3T stepped up the tempo with a lively Bollywood dance rendition with soundtrack from the famous movie Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

All the hardwork of the children, teachers and parent volunteers over the past month, paid off, evident from the positive feedback and buzz from the audience. A huge thank you goes out to them for having made this a successful and highly enjoyable event.
